During those first two weeks in Argentina, I got to know a great woman, my host mom-Raquel. She was completely the opposite of what I expected. She was a feminist (a rarity in Argentina), a woman who proclaimed that she only had lovers, not husbands. She was the most liberal Argentine woman I have ever met. She was well-versed on all kinds of politics. She had an opinion on everything.
I loved that first week with her. Since she had many host students before me, she did everything in her ability to make me feel comfortable. I appreciated that and I still do. (She is the woman on the right). I admired her during my time in Argentina and I still do.
